People who need to transfer most of their weight from their lower body to their upper body will find crutches to be the most useful of the walking aids. Crutches are a good solution for people with short-term leg injuries as well as for people with permanent disabilities. Depending on your needs, crutches can be used both singularly and in pairs.
These walkers have a three-sided frame that surrounds the user, providing a high level of stability that helps them both while standing and walking. A pickup frame is well-suited for elderly people in need of a walking aid, we also provide walkers with wheels for users with limited arm strength.
Similar to pickup frames, rollators provide added stability for people with balance issues to help prevent falls. However, this walking aid also has four wheels and handlebars so moving around with it is very easy, and it comes with a built-in seat so users can rest whenever they need to.
Walking & Quad Sticks
These walking aids help take some of the pressure off its user’s feet by distributing some of their weight to their upper body. Walking sticks are perfect for people who have problems balancing when they walk and are at risk of falling, for extra stability consider getting a quad stick as the wider base makes balancing easier.
Vital Living are a registered provider with the NDIS, so we can help if one of these walking aids is included in the care plan for an NDIS recipient. Browse our range and shop online, or visit us in-store in Forster, Port Macquarie or Taree to purchase or hire.
